eXp Realty MCP: How MCP First, AI of Choice Works

Key Takeaway

eXp Realty MCP is a set of connections that let an agent’s own AI assistant, such as ChatGPT or Claude, read data from eXp systems. It is not a new eXp chatbot. The AI reaches only the eXp systems eXp has connected, after the agent approves access. MLS data is not among the announced connections.

TL;DR About eXp Realty MCP

  • MCP links eXp systems to AI assistants.
  • Agents keep using their own AI tool.
  • eXp did not build its own chatbot.
  • Connections include the HUB and My eXp.
  • Agents approve each connection inside their assistant.
  • MLS data is not an announced connection.
  • AI answers still need checking in eXp.

eXp Realty MCP is eXp’s program for connecting its agent systems to outside AI assistants through Model Context Protocol, an open technical standard. eXp calls the approach “MCP First, AI of Choice.”

Many agents assume eXp launched its own AI chatbot. It did not, and agents keep the assistant they already use. eXp announced the program on October 8, 2026, at eXpcon in Salt Lake City.

This article explains how eXp AI of choice mcp fits into the broader eXp Realty Solutions ecosystem available to eXp agents.

It explains what the program is, which systems it reaches, what agents can do with it, how to connect, and what it cannot do:

What Is eXp Realty’s MCP First, AI of Choice?

MCP First, AI of Choice is eXp Realty’s plan to publish its own systems as MCP connections. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets an AI assistant request data from another software system in a set format.

The program applies to eXp agents. An agent connects eXp data to the assistant they already pay for or use, such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. It sits within the technology layer of the eXp Realty brokerage, next to the HUB, My eXp, and other agent systems.

The agent asks a question in plain words. The assistant uses the MCP connection to pull the answer from eXp. The agent no longer needs to export a report and upload it to the AI tool. MCP does not replace eXp’s systems or change compensation, caps, or brokerage policy. eXp described the launch in its official eXpcon 2026 announcement.

Which eXp Systems Can AI Assistants Access?

eXp has named four of its own systems for MCP connections: the eXp HUB, My eXp, eXp University, and eXp Divisions. My eXp holds an agent’s account, production, and compensation records. The My eXp app is where agents already view those numbers.

The data an agent can ask about includes production, leads, transactions, training progress, and CRM records. Outside tools are also part of the program. Canva is live. Trade reports differ on CRM timing: some list Lofty, BoldTrail, and Cloze as live, and others list Lofty and BoldTrail as coming soon. Follow Up Boss and Sisu are listed as coming soon.

The connection works only with systems eXp has published. MLS listing data, other brokerages’ systems, and tools eXp has not connected are outside the program. Some production and performance metrics are still rolling out, so the list of available data may change.

What Can Agents Do With eXp’s MCP Connections?

Agents type questions into their AI assistant and receive answers drawn from eXp data. eXp built a library of starter prompts. Examples eXp has shared include “show my production over the last 12 months,” “how far am I from capping,” and “list CRM contacts with upcoming birthdays.”

The process has three parts. The agent connects eXp once, asks a question, and the assistant returns an answer that uses the connected data.

Any eXp agent can use the program once the connection is approved in their assistant. Teams can keep their existing workflows. Results depend on the AI assistant’s plan and on which eXp connections are live in that agent’s account.

How Do You Connect eXp to ChatGPT or Claude?

eXp describes setup as approving the connection inside the agent’s chat tool, with no new app and no new account. eXp has published step-by-step setup instructions in their company AI of choice mcp toolkit.

The general process is set by each AI company. In Claude, a user opens Customize, selects Connectors, adds a custom connector, and signs in, as shown in Anthropic’s custom connector guide. In ChatGPT, full MCP connector support depends on the plan, as explained in OpenAI’s MCP connector help page.

The AI company controls the plan rules, and eXp controls which eXp data is available. Connecting an assistant does not change the agent’s eXp account, cap, or sponsor.

What Can’t eXp’s MCP Connections Do?

MCP connections cannot make an AI assistant’s answer correct. The assistant can misread or misstate data, so the eXp system stays the official record. My eXp remains the source for cap, production, and commission numbers.

The program does not give MLS access or access to systems eXp has not published. It does not create a brokerage chatbot, and it does not replace eXp support, the broker, or written brokerage policy.

Some parts are fixed and some can change. MCP itself is an open standard. The list of eXp connections, the CRM integrations, and AI company plan limits are changeable. For example, ChatGPT features differ by plan, and some features are not available on mobile.

How MCP Fits Into eXp’s Broader Technology Plans

Some agents assume MCP is eXp’s entire AI plan. eXp calls MCP the first piece of AGNT OS, a rebuild of the systems that handle how agents close deals and get paid.

AGNT OS is built on eXp International’s Nexus platform and is targeted for early 2027. eXp leadership describes MCP as the entry point and AGNT OS as the full system behind it.

For example, an agent asking an assistant about cap progress today uses the MCP connection. The transaction and payment systems that produce that number are what AGNT OS is meant to rebuild.

What Agents Also Ask

Is it safe to connect eXp business data to an AI assistant?

eXp has not published a security statement for its MCP connections. Agents approve each connection inside their AI assistant, usually through a sign-in step. Agents should review the AI provider’s data and privacy settings and limit connections to the data they need before connecting.

Can team leaders view team member data through eXp MCP?

eXp has not announced team leader access to team member data through MCP. Reports describe agents approving connections for their own accounts, and teams keeping their existing workflows. Team leaders should confirm any data-sharing rules with eXp before relying on MCP for team reporting.

Do other brokerages offer MCP connections?

As of October 2026, no other brokerage has announced a brokerage-wide MCP program like eXp’s. Several real estate software companies, including Lofty, BoldTrail, and Rechat, have launched their own MCP servers. Those vendor connections work with their own products, not with a brokerage’s systems.

Why This Matters

MCP connections let an agent’s own AI assistant read brokerage data, which makes a brokerage’s technology part of the brokerage choice. At eXp Realty, all agents receive the same core brokerage platform, including compliance, compensation, and access to company divisions. What differs is the sponsor ecosystem an agent aligns with.

The sponsor an agent selects shapes which tools, training, and attraction systems they have access to, including help applying MCP prompts to daily tasks such as tracking cap progress. Agents weighing that choice should test the connected systems directly alongside the Smart Agent Alliance team value a sponsor brings.

Frequently Asked Questions

eXp has not announced a separate fee for its MCP connections. Agents may still pay for their own AI assistant plan. The AI company’s plan decides which connector features work, so the total cost depends on the assistant an agent chooses.
eXp has not published a plan requirement. As of October 2026, OpenAI offers full MCP connectors on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans, with limited support on Pro. Claude supports custom connectors on all plans, and its free plan allows one.
eXp has published connections to several systems, including the HUB, My eXp, eXp University, and eXp Divisions, plus outside tools such as Canva. How many connections an agent can add at once depends on the AI assistant’s plan limits.
AI assistants can misread or misstate data. The official cap figure lives in My eXp. Agents should check any cap, production, or commission number against My eXp before acting on it or sharing it, and report data errors to eXp support.
eXp Realty announced MCP First, AI of Choice on October 8, 2026, at eXpcon in Salt Lake City. It was one of four announcements that day, alongside ShowGo, eXp Ready, and Revenos Mortgage. Some connections were live at launch, with others listed as coming soon.
